  HKABA- Victoria reflects on 2009

  THE YEAR IN REVIEW

2009 has been marked by the continual progress towards strategic initiatives identified by and undertaken by the Executive Committee of the Victorian Chapter. The Committee wants to further develop and progress the value proposition and membership standing of the Victorian Chapter.

The year has been one of challenge and satisfaction. In spite of the challenges from the worldwide global financial crisis, a great deal of satisfaction has been generated from the very strong and positive results gained from Major Event initiatives, particularly the re-activation of the Business Awards Gala Dinner after 2 years absence.

  NEW INITIATIVES

When the Committee was elected 12 months ago we undertook to strengthen our communication with the membership and to put in place initiatives to ensure we fully understand what the members wanted out of the HKABA, Vic Chapter. One of the initiatives we undertook in this area was to launch a membership survey. It was designed to ask members about their priorities as members. This survey has provided us with valuable information and has assisted us in organising events for our members. The survey will be repeated in 2010.

Other important initiatives have included:

Publishing a monthly newsletter that provides better communication with our members.
Successfully launching our own chapter website: http://www.hkabavic.com.au.
Launching a HKABA Vic dedicated phone line (1300322072) in December 2008.
Moving our official address to 37/131 La Trobe St, Melbourne in order to save costs.
