  HK Jewellery Show dazzles with design  
     
  More than 32,000 buyers, nine per cent higher than last year, took in the 27th HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show. Among them included a buying mission from Australia's Jewllery Association of Australia JAA. 2010 also saw the first ever official buying mission from New Zealand from Jewellers and Watchmakers of NZ.

Overseas buyers at the five-day show were up 28 per cent, with both mature and emerging markets showing more active order placing and confidence in the retail market. Exports to Australia increased by nine per cent in 2009.
 
     
  This year's HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show featured more than 2,600 exhibitors from 44 countries and regions, a new record, and up more than 13 per cent over last year. The number of Hong Kong exhibitors grew to more than 1,380 – 90 more local representatives occupying 20 per cent more space than last year.

The show is organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) in association with the Hong Kong Jewellers' & Goldsmiths' Association, the Hong Kong Jewellery & Jade Manufacturers Association, the Hong Kong Jewelry Manufacturers' Association and the Diamond Federation of Hong Kong, China. Sponsors include the Hong Kong Watch Manufacturers Association and the Federation of Hong Kong Watch Trades & Industries.

Hong Kong is the world's fourth-largest exporter of fine jewellery after Italy, the United States and India. The city's total exports of fine jewellery in 2009 amounted to US$3.7 billion (HK$28.5 billion).
