"Hong Kong in 2010: Right Place, Right Time"
 
     
  Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) in conjunction with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, the Canterbury Employers Chamber of Commerce and the Canterbury Development Corporation had put together a successful evening in Christchurch on the 24th of February 2010 to celebrate the Closer Economic Partnership (CEP) agreement to be signed in March 2010.

The evening featured Ms Bonnie Shek, Director of the HKTDC Australia/NZ who outlined the opportunities in doing business with Hong Kong/China. Ms. Shek said "Under the CEP, New Zealand exporters will enjoy greater certainty and transparency when conducting business in Hong Kong which will give them a head-start over competitors in accessing the mainland market"

Ms Felicity Anderson, Consultant of Invest Hong Kong also highlighted the right timing of the Closer Economic Partnership(CEP) agreement has opened the windows to both countries to do businesses at a right place. Case studies speakers, Mr. Charles William, CEO of Seperex Nutritionals Ltd. and Mr. Gwyn Thomas, General Manager of Bascand Wines who shared their business success in Hong Kong/China.

The business seminar was attended by over 60 local business people from various industries who shown great enthusiasm in business opportunities with Hong Kong and China. The event ended with a relaxing and enjoyable cocktail networking for all participants.
