  1. Study shows global connections crucial to Hong Kong's future

A new study from consulting firm McKinsey & Co. has ranked Hong Kong as Asia's most globally connected economy. According to the study, in order to maintain its ranking, Hong Kong’s trade and finance linkages with the mainland and the rest of the world must be constantly reinforced. According to Joe Ngai, a managing partner at McKinsey, “It is clearly very important for [mainland] China to be connected to Hong Kong… Our study underscores Hong Kong's pivotal role in the global economy."

  3. Hong Kong destroys almost 30 tons of confiscated ivory

Almost 30 tons of confiscated ivory will be incinerated as part of Hong Kong Government’s commitment to fighting illegal wildlife trade. To show its commitment to fighting illegal wildlife trade, the Hong Kong Government recently began the incineration of almost 30 tons of confiscated ivory. "We hope curbing illegal trade in ivory will help stop illegal poaching of elephants," said Hong Kong Secretary for the Environment, Mr Wong Kam-sing.
