Helen Sham Ho OAM’s Mirgration Story
We love this account of Hon. Helen Sham Ho OAM's mirgration story as recorded by the NSW Migration Heritage Centre. Helen arrived in Australia in 1961 from Hong Kong and in this account she talks about her unique migration experience.
Since her humble beginnings, Helen has since become a community leader and has been a member of the Council for Aboriginal Recociliation and the NSW Legislative Council.

When Michael visited Hong Kong
If you’re thinking about going to Hong Kong anytime soon, you’ve got to read this piece by Sydney Morning Herald reporter Michael Gebicki. Michael writes about his experience in the city and how it has gained a reputation as a culinary destination. Turns out there are now 61 Michelin star restaurants in Hong Kong!
Of course, no discussion about Hong Kong is complete without shopping, and Michael writes about this too. Whilst he’s impressed by the presence of luxury brands, he urges travellers to go check out the many antiques stores and galleries in Hong Kong’s alleyways.

Harlem Shake at HK Rubgy Seven
Just when you thought the Harlem Shake craze was over, the crowds at the Hong Kong Rubgy Sevens did one of the biggest Harlem Shake videos ever. Check out their video here.
Hong Kong in Motion
We all know Hong Kong is a fastpaced city but sometimes we’re too busy to appreciate it. That’s why we adore these photos by Hong Kong photographer Brian Yen. Brian’s long exposure photos capture bright, moving scenes which epitomise the busy metropolis.
Brian has been been photographing various facets of Hong Kong life for many years and his beautiful photos never fail to impress.Check out a sample of his work here.
HK Street Art Album
Hong Kong is hosting Art Basel HK, the city’s annual high-end art fair, next month. But sometimes art can be found outside of galleries, like on the streets, pavements and unexpected spaces. That’s why we love this album of fantastic street art found in random areas around Hong Kong.
There’s a cool mixture of stencils, large posters, paintings on walls and graffiti in unexpected places. Check out the gallery here.
