  Hong Kong Cinema shines at Golden Koala Chinese Film Festival  
     
  The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO) are proud to have sponsored of the Hong Kong segment at the Golden Koala Chinese Film Festival which showcased a great cross section of Chinese and Hong Kong movies.

Launched in late January by Linda Law, Deputy Director of Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, among others, the Golden Koala Chinese Film Festival brings to Sydney the thoughtfulness, vivacity and passion of Hong Kong cinema.

Films screened over the month of February at the Dendy theatre on Opera Quay, and attracted a wide audience keen to see the latest films from Hong Kong.

Hong Kong films that screened during the festival included: Gallants, Girl, Hi, Fidelity and Merry-Go-Round.

The Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office Steve Barclay congratulated Hong Kong film actor Teddy Robin Kwan on winning the 2012 Golden Koala Best Actor Award, and Ella Koon, who won the 2012 Golden Koala Best Actress Award, for their excellent performances in the film "Merry Go Round".

"The Golden Koala Chinese Film Festival is destined to make a significant cultural contribution to the film industry by highlighting the creative spirit of Chinese and Hong Kong films on Australian shores", said Mr Barclay.

"The festival has been acclaimed as a fabulous example of Hong Kong talent and culture. HKETO look forward to being involved in the future."
