  28 Jun HKABA NSW Chapter & ANZ Joint Asia Pacific Networking Function  
     
  Hong Kong-Australia Business Association NSW Chapter held the 2010 Asia Pacific Networking Function kindly sponsored by ANZ Bank on 28th June. The primary theme of the event was to facilitate the communication among guests who have connections in the Asia-Pacific Region.

Presidents and representatives from more than 15 Business Associations and Chambers of Commerce attended the event. The event has been successively held over the past two years. This year, it attracted the most participants with over 120 guests from various industry sectors.

Associations who attended included China Chamber of Commerce in Australia, Australia India Business Council, Australia-Japan Business Association, Australia Malaysia and Singapore Association, Australia-Philippines Business Council, Australia-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Australia-Singapore Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Australian Taiwanese Business Council, Australia-Thailand Business Council, Australia-Vietnam Business Council, Australia Indonesian Business Council, Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Sydney, Korean Society of Sydney, Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce in Oceania.

The Hon. Warwick Smith, Chairman ANZ Bank, NSW & ACT and Chairman, E*TRADE, addressed the audience.

Mr. Peter Sinn, President of Hong Kong Australia Business Association NSW Chapter, said at the function that "HKABA is committed to promoting the business connections for its members and we are also looking forward to organising this function annually in the future."

The Hong Kong-Australia Business Association Inc. (HKABA), initiated by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, was established in 1987 to promote a positive image for Hong Kong and to reinforce economic ties between Hong Kong SAR and Australia. HKABA members are individuals and business organisations with strong Hong Kong connections or interested in doing business with Hong Kong and China.
