  Welcome home - from London 2012 Paralympic Games  
     
  Students present flower garlands to the athletes returning from London 2012 Paralympic Games. A welcome home ceremony hosted by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government was held at the Hong Kong International Airport in honour of the Hong Kong, China delegation returning from the London 2012 Paralympic Games

The Hong Kong delegation fetched a total of 12 medals, comprising three gold, three silver and six bronze.

A total of 28 Hong Kong athletes took part in seven competition events at the Games, namely athletics, boccia, equestrian sport, shooting, swimming, table tennis and wheelchair fencing.

The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, officiates at the Welcome Home Ceremony for Hong Kong, China delegation to 2012 London Paralympic Games at the Hong Kong International Airport. The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung welcomed the return of the athletes and commended them on their efforts to overcome challenges and to break through limits, as well as on the high morale they showed at the Games.

He called on different sectors of the community to continuously support the development of disability sports and encourage athletes with disabilities to participate in international competitions and develop their potential.

Also greeting the athletes at the ceremony were the Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Tsang Tak-sing; the Acting Director of Leisure and Cultural Services, Mr Bobby Cheng; the President of the Hong Kong Paralympic Committee & Sports Association for the Physically Disabled, Dr York Chow; and the Chairperson, Mrs Jenny Fung.
