Wine Mission from New South Wales, Australia Visits Hong Kong

A wine mission sponsored by NSW government (Industry & Investment NSW) was held in HK from 25-26 May 2010.

13 wineries from New South Wales travelled to Hong Kong and participated in a series of business matching meetings arranged by HKTDC's, with the assistance from Sydney Office. A briefing session was hosted together with business matching, which resulted in a a total of 68 meetings, with 23 companies.

I & I NSW announced their commitment to HK International Wine & Spirits Fair 2010 noting that it's more international flavour was a key to their interest in exhibiting.

Many of these delegates had exhibited in the HK Wine Fair last year, and saw HKTDC's Customised Business Matching service as very effective in supplementing the integrated advantage with year-round support.

Cranswick Wines (Australia) mention's that HK is a regional hub and the only major economy to impose no duty/ sales tax on wine, as such it choose HK is its first choice of overseas expansion.

NSW government was highly satisfied with the Business Matching service, and would like to conduct the same for the coming Wine Fair in November . They will also consider bringing in other sectors from Australia such as food.
