  New Government Headquarters at Tamar

Policy bureaux at Lower Albert Road are starting to relocate to the newly completed Government HQ at Tamar.

At a ceremony to commemorate the completion of the new Government Headquarters on 18 August, Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, said the development opened the next chapter of Government services, bringing a new outlook, vigour and drive to both the HKSAR Government and the community as a whole.

New tenants included the Chief Executive Office and the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau. Mr Tsang said the Tamar project included the new Government Headquarters, the Legislative Council Complex and public open space. It is now a new landmark with great dynamics and vitality in a prime site in Hong Kong.

He noted that the design of the whole project aimed at providing easy access and close connections for the community.

"While some of the pedestrian facilities are still under construction, the overall concept is to facilitate public access, ensuring that members of our community will enjoy a fast and comfortable journey when getting here," said Mr Tsang.
