  2011 Hong Kong Student and Industry Program

  The 2011 Hong Kong Student and Industry Program jointly organised by the Hong Kong Australia Business Association – South Australian Chapter Inc. and the University of Adelaide was a successful event, with approximately 50 students and 16 industry representatives in attendance.

The Hong Kong Student and Industry Program aims to strengthen opportunities for the community by:

building relationships between students, staff and business leaders;
promoting opportunities for students to gain practical career knowledge and define their future objectives through networking opportunities;
maintaining effective linkages with industry and emerging technologies; and
providing an open and friendly environment for students to gain experience and knowledge.

  Linda Law, Deputy Director of Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office, Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region as the guest speaker for the evening spoke about job opportunities in the Government sectors in Hong Kong and the industry representatives share their knowledge and experience with the students about finding and securing jobs in Australia. The format of this event was based around a 'speed networking' concept, where students exchange ideas with industry representatives.

We have received very positive feedback about this event and look forward to working with the University of Adelaide for a similar event in 2012.
