March: An informative and educational month for SMEs

HKTDC co-organized four business seminars in March throughout different capital cities in Australia. In Perth, The Department of State Development of Western Australia collaborated with Hong Kong government bodies along with HKTDC, to highlight the different economic aspects of Hong Kong and reinforce the message of 'Close Trade and Investment Relations with Hong Kong'.

In Darwin, HKTDC and the Chamber of Commerce of Northern Territory co-organized a business seminar and cocktail reception to introduce 'Hong Kong as a Gateway to China' to local SMEs. Guest speakers Daryl Guppy and Quentin Kilian presented different ideas in entering the Hong Kong/China market.

Two seminars were held in Sydney accommodating for the retail sector. The 'Opportunity for Retailers in the Hong Kong market' seminar co-organised by HKTDC and Octomedia Pty Ltd (Inside Retailing) provides audience with the latest trends, development and business opportunities in Hong Kong; along with an inspiring case study from Dymocks CEO – Don Grover, based on Dymock's experience in establishing retail stores and franchises across different locations in Hong Kong.

Magnolia Solutions collaborated with HKTDC in a business seminar which focus on 'Sourcing and Selling in 2011: Online and Offline'. Nancy Georges, the Retail Miss Fix-It & founder of Magnolia Solutions, provides audience with insight of the changing of retail market and reinforce the importance of online sourcing and selling as the ultimate marketing tools in the "new world".

Overall, audience generated greater awareness and interests with trading opportunities in Hong Kong and it was also an excellent opportunity to promote HKTDC's services to new business contacts.
