  Foreword

Director, Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), Australia / New ZealandEstablished in 1966, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is the international marketing arm for Hong Kong-based traders, manufacturers and service providers. With more than 40 offices worldwide, including 11 in the Chinese mainland, the HKTDC promotes Hong Kong as a platform for doing business with China and Asia. The HKTDC also organises trade fairs and business missions to connect companies with opportunities in Hong Kong and the mainland, while providing information via trade publications, research reports and online. Our Sydney Office covers both Australia and New Zealand and is able to assist the SME’s from this region to seek business opportunities via sourcing, selling or partnering up with HK based firms.

More recently The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) has launched a HK$80 million assistance package to help bring more new trade buyers to the HKTDC’s international trade fairs in Hong Kong. If you are an Australian or NZ buyer sourcing for products/services, come to any of the 30 international HKTDC trade fairs and take advantage of the subsidized package. Working with airlines and hotels, the HKTDC will offer various subsidised packages to assist trade buyers.

I strongly urge local SME’s to take up this subsidized offer.

The Hong Kong Connect is one of many sources to keep your self updated on what type of activities we are hosting around Australia, NZ and in Hong Kong. Complementing this is our HKTDC Trade Portal, www.hktdc.com with all the latest information on HK Industries, Trade Shows and Business Opportunities.

In ending, if you are sourcing or selling with Hong Kong, we are confident that HKTDC can assist you business development in some way or another.

Happy Readings
