Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra tour in Australia
For the first time ever in Australia, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra will perform in Melbourne and Sydney as part of their world tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR with internationally acclaimed Jaap van Zweden conducting and renowned violinist Ning Feng as soloist. The shows will be at Hamer Hall, The Arts Centre Melbourne, and the Concert Hall, Sydney Opera House on 4 and 5 May respectively. Entertainment Expo 2017
April is all about film! The Entertainment Expo 2017 will be held from 13 March to 25 April. There are three founding events, namely the Hong Kong International Film & TV Market, the 36th Hong Kong Film Awards Presentation Ceremony and Hong Kong International Film Festival and seven core events. Art@MTR 2017
You don’t have to visit the museum to get in touch with your artistic side. In everyday life, we often interact with artwork even without noticing it. Until the end of April, 10 exquisite sets of artwork from resident artists of the Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre will be showcased at the MTR Central Station. Cheung Chau Bun Festival
The Cheung Chau Bun Festival this year will be held between 30 April and 4 May. This annual event always attracts thousands of Hong Kong people and tourists to crowd the ferries to the island. During the week-long event, there will be Taoist ceremonies, music, parade, lion dances and drum beating. The highlight is the hour-long Bun Scrambling Competition to be staged from 11.30 pm on 3 May with the best male and female contestants among 12 finalists being crowned the “King of Kings” or the “Queen of Queens”.
