  Hong Kong Chinese New Year
Celebrate the Chinese New Year in Hong Kong like no other! The Chinese New year is the biggest and most colourful festival in Hong Kong, and various activities will be organised to celebrate this festival. The International Chinese New Year Night parade, one of Hong Kong’s most anticipated annual events, will be held on 16 February 2018, featuring brilliant floats and performers from Hong Kong and around the world. You may wish to visit a flower market in search of perfect blooms to bring good luck for the coming year, pray for good fortune at a temple, or enjoy the stunning fireworks show over Victoria Harbour.   Exhibition to showcase outstanding posters from around the world
The “Touch – Hong Kong International Poster Triennial 2017” exhibition is now being held at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum in Sha Tin until 26 March 2018. The exhibition displays nearly 200 shortlisted entries of the triennial competition which attracted more than 2,000 designers from 42 countries and regions to join, covering a wide range of issues on the environment, politics and culture. The Hong Kong Heritage Museum has organised six consecutive editions of the Hong Kong International Poster Triennial since 2001 to recognise the distinguished nature of poster art and pay tributes to the talented designers.   Rare relics along the Silk Road on
A large scale exhibition “Miles upon Miles: World Heritage along the Silk Road” is now staging at the Hong Kong Museum of History in Tsim Sha Tsui until 5 March. Featuring rare relics from Mainland China, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, the exhibition enables visitors to see the richness of world heritage and understand the myths and splendour of the Silk Road. More than 210 exhibits, comprising jade ware, textiles, sancai figurines, gold and silver ware, bronze ware and large-scale murals are on display.   Cutting-edge art works in Asia on show
The world renowned Art Basel will return to Hong Kong for the 2018 edition. Art Basel 2018 will be featuring 248 premier galleries from 32 countries and territories, with half of the participating galleries coming from Asia and Asia-Pacific. This fine art fiesta not only provides a portal to the region’s artists, but also offers galleries from around the world a platform for bringing their highest quality of modern and contemporary works to Asia.   Hong Kong Marathon to promote running culture
Hong Kong Marathon 2018, one of the signature sporting events in the city, will be held on 21 January 2018. The race, which will reach its 22nd anniversary, has been growing from only a thousand of runners to 74,000 nowadays with increasing number of overseas runners. In addition to the full marathon, a half marathon and a 10 km race will also be held. Know more about the race here.
 
     
  Week-long event to promote technology and innovation
The StartmeupHK festival is a week-long event with focus on technology innovation which brings together startups, entrepreneurs, investors, industry leaders, students, as well as academics to exchange ideas and to make connections.
