  Volvo Ocean Race 2017-18
The acclaimed around-the-world sailing race, Volvo Ocean Race 2017-18, is coming to Hong Kong for the first time! Volvo Ocean Race is considered one of the toughest sports competitions in the world and attracts top sailing teams from around the world to join the competition. This year, up to eight teams including Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand will be sailing around the world over an eight-month period starting from later this month (October) in Spain. The boats are expected to arrive in Melbourne in December and will depart from Melbourne to Hong Kong for a stopover from 17-31 January 2018. When the Volvo Ocean Race boats visit Hong Kong, a Race Festival will be organised at Kai Tak Runway Park to provide an overload of entertainment including sailing races, live music performance, 3-D cinema experience, interactive games and lion dance.
The boats are expected to arrive at Auckland around February to March.  Read more about the race here.
 
     
  Cathay Pacific Sun Hung Kai Financial Hong Kong Squash Open 2017
The popular tournament Hong Kong Squash Open 2017 is coming back in November! Top players from all over the world including Paul Coll from New Zealand will join together at this competition to vie for the title. The competition will be held from 12 to 19 November at various locations. Do not miss the opportunity of watching the world’s best squash players in Hong Kong.   Business of Design Week 2017
With the reputation of Asia’s leading annual event on design, innovation and brands, the Business of Design Week (BODW) 2017, will once again be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 4 to 9 December. Each year, BODW brings to Hong Kong the world’s most outstanding design masters and influential business figures to inspire the audience on creative thinking and design management. This year, with its theme “Italy makes a difference”, BODW will be featuring high-profile speakers from Italy, as well as other speakers from around the world. Read more here.
 
     
  Trailwalker 2017
Trailwalker is one of the largest fundraising events in Hong Kong. Participants will form a team of four to complete the 100km MacLehose Trail in Hong Kong within a 48-hour time limit. Since 1986, more than 98,000 participants have raised over HK$536 million to support Charity Oxfam’s various poverty alleviation and emergency relief projects around the world.   Heritage Fiesta 2017
If you are interested in historic buildings, the Heritage Fiesta is a must-join event for you. 15 historic buildings that are declared as monuments in Hong Kong under the Antiquities and Monuments Ordinance will be featured and open for public visit.   Hong Kong Biotech Horizon 2017
Hong Kong Biotech Horizon 2017 – “Global Congress on Biotechnology: Diagnostics and Therapeutics” will be held at Hong Kong Science Park from 22 to 25 November. Medical professionals, scientists, technologists and global leaders will gather at the congress to share their views on the latest developments in biotechnology. As a flagship event series run by the Hong Kong Biotechnology Organisation, the event will comprise conference symposia and public talks engaging the public community and raising awareness of the importance of science in society.
