Legend of Mulan to come to Sydney
After staging the award-winning production of ‘The Legend of Mulan’ in Lincoln Centre in New York in March and in Hong Kong next month, the Hong Kong Dance Company will bring the anticipated show to Sydney for its Australian premiere at The Concourse in Chatswood between 17-19 September.   Government releases proposals for selecting the Chief Executive by universal suffrage
On 22 April, the Hong Kong Government published the Consultation Report and Proposals on the Method for Selecting the Chief Executive by Universal Suffrage. Speaking at the Legislative Council, the Chief Secretary for Administration Mrs Carrie Lam, said that implementing universal suffrage for the selection of the Chief Executive (CE) in 2017 was the most important policy objective of the current term of the HKSAR Government. The Government has launched a citywide publicity campaign to promote the proposals and government officials will meet with Legislative Council members to garner their support before Council’s voting of the Proposals by its recess this summer.   For more information please click here.

 
     
  Pilot Admission Scheme for Second Generation of Chinese HK Permanent Residents & Enhancements to Talent Admission Arrangements
The Hong Kong Immigration Department has announced the implementation of the pilot Admission Scheme for the Second Generation of Chinese Hong Kong Permanent Residents (ASSG) and other enhancements to the admission arrangements for talent, professionals and entrepreneurs from May 4.   HAPPY@HongKong campaign on until  28 May
The Hong Kong Quality Tourism Services Association (QTSA) has rolled out a citywide campaign called “HAPPY@hongkong Super JETSO”, which packages special offers and great service from more than 14, 500 retail outlets, restaurants, shopping malls, hotels and tourists attractions..   Working Group on Intellectual Property (IP) Trading releases report on driving the development of Hong Kong as an IP trading hub
The Working Group on IP Trading (Working Group) recently released a report with recommendations on measures to further develop Hong Kong as an IP trading hub in the region. The 28 recommended measures fall under four strategic areas, namely enhancing the IP protection regime; supporting IP creation and exploitation; fostering IP intermediary services and manpower capacity; and pursuing promotion, education and external collaboration efforts.
