No.1  February, 2014

  Foreword

Steve BarclayThis month sees a major change to the face of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Sydney, as the head of the Invest Hong Kong team is leaving us. Cameron Boardman, who has worked with us for the past decade, is moving on to a similar but more senior role for the Victorian government in his beloved Melbourne. Cameron has performed sterling work for Hong Kong and he leaves us with our very best wishes.

Whilst Cameron will be a very hard act to follow, we must try to fill his shoes. If you are interested, watch out for the job advertisement which will appear shortly.

This month will also see New Zealand Prime Minister John Key visit Hong Kong as part of a visit focusing on trade and economic opportunities. It marks the first visit by a New Zealand Prime Minister to Hong Kong since 2006. Programme elements will include a call on the Hong Kong Chief Executive CY Leung and a Rugby 7s reception hosted by the New Zealand Consulate-General. We trust Mr Key will enjoy his trip to Hong Kong.
