Many major brands such as Bossini, Club Monaco, DKSH (Thailand) Ltd, Fossil Asia Pacific Ltd, Li & Fung and Zalora also sent representatives to the fairs.

Small-Order Zone popular with emerging market buyers

  Womenswear Fashion Forecast 2015

Head of Content for WGSN, Asia Pacific, Ms Vilislava Petrova, presented on the upcoming fashion trends for Spring/Summer 2015 during World Boutique Hong Kong held in January 2015.

Beginning with formal wear, glamour returns with the Golden Era of Hollywood, metallic fabrics teamed with reds and pinks and balanced with greys and whites. Luxury fabrics including silks and satins will be evident, contrasted with matt and shine.

The shimmer and shine extends to daywear, harmonised with fluid fabrics. The trouser suit makes a return, complete with double-breasted tailored jackets. Continuing with the suit theme, playsuits with spaghetti straps in dessert shades will complement the warm weather.

Skinny jeans are to be replaced with flared trousers, the staple from the 1970’s returns along with long line pencil skirts that can be transported from the office through to the evening when teamed with gold accessories, bags and belts.

Patchwork, paneling, deconstructed stripes, layering and pockets will provide the textural components.

Accessories will compose of ‘found treasure’ random pieces of fabrics, shells, rope etc) fused together to create jewellery pieces.

Crop tops, sleeveless sweat shirts and cut-out backs will continue their dominance, teamed with Bermuda shorts and micro-minis.

Colour ways for the season will be predominated by neutrals, greens, blues, mauves, purples, creating depth, with black and white featuring as the pop colours.

Denim tinting, marbled effects and colour saturation with overlying with provide the textural components.

Hong Kong Fashion Week Spring/Summer will be held from 7-10 July 2014, and will feature the following season trend forecasts.
