Access Testing, an Australian independent software testing company, is one such business which has successful expanded their operations into Hong Kong.

“Hong Kong is very much the heart of Asia. The city runs like clockwork and its infrastructure is highly attractive for IT service companies like us,” said Federico Favini, General Manager at Access Testing. Founded in 1995, Access Testing is Australia's longest established independent software testing company and is part of Dialog Group - Australia's largest privately owned information services company. Access Testing launched its Hong Kong office in 2011 and is now the largest full service independent testing organisation in the city.

As the leading IT hub of Asia, Hong Kong was seen by Access Testing as a natural place to expand their operations.

“Access Testing’s CEO, Mr. Tony Bailey, was aware of the Hong Kong government’s strategy of turning the city into a regional hub for Testing and Certification. This made Hong Kong a logical choice for us,” said Mr Favini.

Of all the places in Hong Kong, Access Testing chose to open an office in Cyberport, an ICT community hub located on west Hong Kong Island, for its networking opportunities.

“Networking is essential in any country, but even more so in Hong Kong. We chose to set up our office in Cyberport because it’s right in the heart of Hong Kong’s IT community,” said Mr Favini.

“There’s easy access to top universities and talent and we’ve since partnered with universities to launch a graduate program where we recruit, train, certify and mentor local graduates. Our ambition is to invest in Hong Kong by creating a pool of locally-based IT testing professionals. We want to completely transform the face of testing in Hong Kong.”

Since the launch of their Hong Kong office, Mr Favini said Access Testing has made full use of Cyberport’s facilitates and services.

“Cyberport not only has a range of state-of-the-art ICT facilities, they’ve also proved to be a great source of introductions and referrals for our company. In fact, they used to be our landlords, now they’ve also become a client of ours.”
